Parents' Night Out: December 6th
The next Parents' Night Out will be on Friday, December 6th, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Children
ages 2-10 are welcome to be dropped off for a couple of hours of fun playing games, making crafts,
or watching a movie. A sign-up sheet will be in the narthex. Parents, please make sure to sign up
no later than a week before the event. We were blessed with an abundance of children for PNO in September,
and this means we need more volunteers to supervise children. Would you consider helping? Please let Jessica
Tuhro know if you can assist with any of the following Fridays: December 6th, February 28th, and May 29th. Thank you!
Church Christmas Party: December 7th at 6:00 p.m.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 7th at 6:00 p.m. A delicious dinner will be served along with a
mystery game, "Murder in Wonderland." Come and help solve the mystery of who killed the caterpillar.
Your favorite Wonderland guests will be on trial. Characters are still needed! Contact Joanne Petersen.
Children's Christmas Program: December 15th at 9:00 a.m.
For this year's Christmas program, instead of seeing the children act out the Christmas story in front of the church,
you'll be seeing slides of the costumed children in a real barn, on a dirt road, sitting on a throne, or with live sheep!
Photos for the presentation will be from a day at the Strands' farm and from additional pictures taken at church.
Come see this unique presentation of the Christmas Gospel!
Serving at The Gathering: resuming in January
We'll resume monthly trips to The Gathering to serve meals to the hungry in January.
A sign-up sheet will be in the narthex and new volunteers are always welcome.
Pastor Hillenbrand is leading an 11-day tour to Oberammergau in 2020. The trip will include Prague,
Bratislava, Budapest, Vienna, Oberammergau and Passion Play, and Munich. Airfare/meal inclusive cost is
$4449 per person/double occupancy. Likely leaving June 29th, 2020. Brochures are available in the narthex.
Board Games Wanted
We are collecting gently used board games to use with the Karenni families. Some will be helpful
in teaching numbers, colors, math skills, etc., and some will be given to the families. Thank you very much!
Prayer Shawl Ministry
If you are a knitter, you are invited to become part of a Prayer Shawl Ministry for the benefit of those
on our prayer list and for a mission project. You would be doing this on your own time and at your
convenience. The pattern is very simple, and as shawls are completed, they are blessed by the
pastor and then distributed. For more information, please contact Jo Fenske.
